1.Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message for this week by Father David:
In this month we celebrate a number of Lordly Feasts (the Nativity, feast of circumcision, the Epiphany and the feast of the wedding at Cana of Galilee). In this joyful time, it is a good opportunity to revive and strengthen our prayer life with God.
Bishop Theophan the Recluse (Russian orthodox) gives us some advice on Praying starting with:
Preparing for prayer
Better to not just rush into prayer without thinking…
"…stand for a moment, or sit, or walk, and strive in this time to focus your thoughts, casting off from them all earthly activities and objects.
…call to mind the One to Whom you are praying, Who He is and who you are, as you begin this prayerful petition to Him.
…awaken in your soul the feeling of humility and reverent awe of standing before God in your heart."
…This is the beginning of prayer

2. Epiphany Liturgies – Monday 18 January Evening
Please note the added liturgies and booking changes below:
+ After allowing priority to the congregation who did not have a chance to attend Christmas mass, booking is now open to everyone, regardless of Christmas Mass attendance.
+ Once you have booked and are then unable to attend, please cancel your booking as soon as you are able to.
+ If you have booked and are more than 30 minutes late from the start of the mass, your booking will be voided.
+ Failure to attend a booked mass without good reason may cause your future bookings to be unaccepted.

4. UCAT Classes
Please see poster below for UCAT Classes being offered at church. Places are limited so please see contact details and book early.
5. Outdoor Church cleaning
The Church is in great need of regular cleaning. Volunteers are especially required on weekends. You can be roistered once every 4- 8 weeks depending on the number of volunteers. ١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع ابونا ديفيد:
نحتفل في هذا الشهر بعدد من الأعياد السيدية ( عيد الميلاد، عيد الختان، عيد الظهور الإلهي، عيد عرس قانا الجليل). هذه الأوقات السعيدة فرصة جيدة للنهضة بحياة الصلاة مع الله وتقويتها.
يعطينا الأسقف ثيوفان المتوحد ( الروسي الارثوذكس) بعض النصائح عن الصلاة ابتداءً من:
التحضير للصلاة
"من الأفضل عدم التسرع في الصلاة بدون تفكير..
قف للحظة، أو اجلس، أو تمشى وجاهد في هذا الوقت أن تجمع أفكارك، تاركاً كل الأشياء والأنشطة الأرضية.
تذكر أن تفكر إلى من تصلي، من هو ومن أنت، وأنت تبدأ في هذا التوسل إليه.
أيقظ في روحك الشعور بالاتضاع ورهبة الوقوف أمام الله في قلبك"
… هذه هي بداية الصلاة
لمعرفة المزيد عن الصلاة، لا تتردد في أن تسأل في مكتبة الكنيسة، استمع إلى مواردنا على تطبيق Upper Room Media أو قم بزيارة أي مكتبة ارثوذوكسية للحصول على كتب عن الصلاة للقديس ثيوفان وغيره من العديد من كتّاب الكنيسة الأرثوذكس الموهوبين.
٢.قداسات عيد الظهور الإلهي ( عيد الغطاس) – الأثنين ١٨ يناير
ستُقام قداسات ليلة عيد الظهور الإلهي ( عيد الغطاس) مساء يوم الأثنين الموافق ١٨ يناير. يُرجى الاطلاع على الطلبات التالية:
· بعد إعطاء أولوية حضور قداس عيد الظهور الإلهي لمَن مِن الشعب لم تتح له فرصة حضور عيد الميلاد، اصبح الآن الحجز متاحاً لكل فرد بغض النظر عن حضور قداس عيد الميلاد أم لا
· بمجرد قيامك بالحجز، إذا تعذر عليك الحضور، يُرجى إلغاء الحجز بأسرع وقت ممكن.
· إذا قمت بالحجز ولكن تأخرت أكثر من ٣٠ دقيقة من بداية القداس، سيتم إلغاء الحجز الخاص بك.
· قد يؤدي عدم حضور قداس حجزت له بدون سبب وجيه، عدم قبول حجوزاتك المستقبلية.

٣.قداسات أيام السبت والأحد
حتى إشعار آخر ستقام قداسات أيام السبت والأحد حسب الجدول التالي:
A = عربي
E = انجليزي
الغاء القداس المسائي( ٦ مساءً)
يُرجى ملاحظة: SS تشير إلى قداسات مدارس الأحد فقط
٤.فصول ال UCAT
يُرجى الاطلاع على البوستر أدناه عن فصول ال UCAT التي تقدمها الكنيسة. الأماكن محدودة، يُرجى الاطلاع على بيانات الاتصال والحجز مبكراً.
٥.تنظيفخارج الكنيسة
تحتاج الكنيسة إلى تنظيف بصفة دورية. هناك حاجة إلى متطوعين للتنظيف منتظمين وخصوصاً أيام السبت والأحد. يمكن إدراجك مرة واحدة كل ٤ إلى ٨ أسابيع اعتماداً على عدد المتطوعين. إذا كنت ترغب في المساعدة بأي درجة، يُرجى الاتصال بالسيد أشرف على الرقم 0450 022 355 أو بأبونا جوناثان 0400319175.
