1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message for the week by Father Yacoub:
A number of years ago, Fr Augustinos took me in his car to Rookwood Cemetery to pray at the burial of a beloved friend who had departed this world.
Arriving early, we decided to wait at a coffee shop. There, we had this chat:
A: Do you think some of these dead people were rich?
Y: Sure, Abouna.
A: Do you think their children fought over the inheritance?
A: Did some live in luxury houses, have beautiful cars, degrees and high positions? Did they benefit from all these things?
Y: You got me thinking deeply Abouna.
Then I made a decision. Next time I go to the cemetery, I’ll go in Fr Jonathan’s car.

3. Church Renovations Update & How to Donate
During lockdown, the Church has undertaken a major renovation across several areas. We hope to be ready to welcome you all back to church. Attached are some photos from the current renovations in the English Church, 5&2 Cafe, canteen & kitchen. We ask for your prayers so we can complete this work on time for re-opening. Donations will be much appreciated. If you would like to donate for this project or any other work across the Church, please consider the following options:

5. Church Reopening: Monday 11th October

Church Reopening
1. We look forward to welcoming you back to church on Monday October 11th , 2021.
2. We encourage the congregation to follow the NSW Government guidelines regarding vaccination for the safety of everyone. This includes, at this stage, not attending church services until you have received both doses of your COVID-19 vaccine (if eligible).
3. We remind the congregation to also follow usual precautions (including checking in, not attending if unwell, social distancing, hand hygiene, wearing masks etc). It is strongly recommended that we greet the priests and other members of the congregation from a distance.
4. The schedule for masses, starting Monday October 11th, is below. Please note that weekday masses will not require bookings and the church will be closed once it reaches capacity. Weekend masses will require bookings and further detail will be communicated next week. A phone number will also be provided for you to contact if you need assistance with booking. Please note that the scouts will also be available to assist and we ask that you cooperate with them.

من عدة سنوات، ذهبت مع أبونا أوغسطينوس إلى مدافن روكوود للصلاة على أحد الأصدقاء الغاليين الذي رحل عن هذا العالم عند دفنه.
وصلنا قبل الميعاد، فقررنا الانتظار في الكافيه، وهناك دار الحديث التالي:
ا: هل تظن بعض هؤلاء الموتى كانوا أغنياء؟
ي: بالتأكيد يا أبونا
ا: هل تظن أن أولادهم اختلفوا مع بعضهم حول الميراث؟
ا: هل عاش بعض منهم في بيوت فاخرة، وكان لديهم سيارات جميلة، وشهادات ومناصب عالية؟ هل استفادوا من كل تلك الأشياء؟
ي: لقد جعلتني اتعمق في التفكير يا أبونا
ثم قررت في المرة القادمة عند ذهابي إلى المدافن، أن استقل سيارة أبونا جوناثان
