1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message for the week by Father Michael:
"Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will towards man". Luke 2:14
2022 years ago, we had two kings, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the king of the world Caesar.
Caesar was the most powerful man on earth, lived in a palace, enjoyed total freedom, and had the best of everything, including best of food and entertainments. He also had the biggest army. All of these things are for his own self-gratification.
On the other hand, we have Jesus born in a manger, wrapped in swaddling cloth. Seemed weak and hopeless. Yet He is the One who feeds Himself to us ( Eucharist). And He is the One who gives His life for us to live. He also has an army of Angels, and He is in charge of them, carrying heavenly weapons, weapons of peace, love, and forgiveness.
So, in this Christmas we ask ourselves, which army are we with? And which king do we follow? The earthly king (Satan), or Our Lord Jesus Christ?
So let us all have the true spirit of Christmas, the spirit of Truth shine through us. Merry Christmas everyone!

3. Kids Kiahk
Every Saturday night during the month of Kiahk.
7 – 8:30pm for the age-group Year 1 – Year 6
4. Kiahk Praises and Liturgies
During the month of Kiahk the church has the following services of praise and liturgies:
1. 6pm to after midnight each Saturday. Mass will start after Tasbeha around 11pm.
2. Special early morning Kiahk Praises every Saturday and Sunday morning: from 2am to 5:30am followed by the early mass and finish at 8am.
Please come and enjoy praising the Lord in a joyful spirit.
5. Lion’s Cup – this Saturday 18 December at 12pm
The Youth Lion’s Cup is almost here! (St Mark’s 6-a-side outdoor soccer competition for Year 12+).
18 December at 12pm at the Seymour Shaw Stadium, Miranda.

6. Christmas Carols @Narrow Gate – this Sunday December 19
Christmas Carols will be held at the Narrow Gate: 6 – 8pm on Sunday 19 December.
Get ready to enjoy the Choir, Food Stalls, Jumping Castles, Animal Farm, Santa with gifts and more!
St Wanas Charity will be collecting your generous donations and send it to children in need for Christmas. Please place new toys (average value $15) on the event, under the Christmas tree . Alternatively, you may choose to donate the same value at the St Wanas station on the day.

7. St Mark’s Vacation Centre
The Vacation Centre will be in operation from Monday 20 December for the summer holidays.
Please find the attached program for all details and schedule of outings.
8. Kitchen Volunteers Needed
The ladies making Christmas biscuits are struggling with demand and are requesting for volunteers to help out. If you have as little as 2 hours free or more, or if you would like more information on helping with Kahk, please contact Safinaz on: 0411640614.
9. Soccer 2022 Registrations – Information Stall available this Sunday outside the Bookshop.
Registrations is open for 2022 teams with Rockdale Raiders.
Male teams: Ages: 12-17, 18-35, 35-45, 45+
Mixed teams: Ages 5-11

12. Men’s Clothing for the Homeless Needed Urgently
Leading up to Christmas and the new year, the Coptic Orthodox Community Outreach Service (COCOS) needs your help. We urgently need donations of clothing for men. The clothing does not have to be new, just in good condition. If you have clothing you do not need, please put these in bags and place in the COCOS clothing charity bin located at Saint Mark’s Church (just down the steps of the English church car park and to the right). If we all could spare a few items, it would make an enormous difference.
Much needed items of clothing for men include:
· Jeans (sizes 30 to 38)
· Shirts (especially t-shirts)
· Casual jackets
· Tracksuits
· Sports and casual shoes (sizes 9 – 13)
· Singlets
· Shorts
· New underwear
· Socks
· Sun hats
· Cargo pants
· Hoodies
· Jumpers
· Belts
We also need regular donations of:
· Sleeping bags

من 2022 سنة كان لدينا ملكان، ربنا يسوع المسيح وملك العالم قيصر.
كان قيصر أقوى رجل على وجه الأرض، وكان يعيش في قصر، وتمتع بالحرية الكاملة، وكان يتمتع بأفضل ما في كل شيء، بما في ذلك أفضل الأطعمة ووسائل الترفيه. كما كان لديه أكبر جيش. كل هذه الأشياء لإرضاء ذاته.
ومن ناحية أخرى، ولد يسوع في مذود ملفوفًا في قماط. بدا ضعيفًا ويائسًا. ومع ذلك فهو الذي يغذينا بذاته (التناول). وهو الذي بذل حياته لنحيا. ولديه أيضاً جيش من الملائكة، وهو المسؤول عنهم، حاملين أسلحة سماوية، أسلحة سلام، ومحبة، ومغفرة.

١٢.مطلوب بشكل عاجل ملابس رجالي للذين بلا مأوى
مع اقتراب عيد الميلاد ورأس السنة الجديدة، تحتاج خدمةCOCOS إلى مساعدتكم. نحن بحاجة ماسة لتبرعات تتكون من ملابس رجالي. ليس من الضروري أن تكون الملابس جديدة، ولكن في حالة جيدة. إذا كان لديك ملابس لا تحتاجها، فيُرجى وضعها في أكياس ووضعها في صندوق الملابس الخيري COCOS الموجود في كنيسة القديس مار مرقس (أسفل السلالم في موقف سيارات الكنيسة الإنجليزية على اليمين). إذا تمكنا جميعًا من توفير بعض البنود، فسنحدث فرقًا هائلاً.
