Prophet Elisha
Claim to fame: Elisha was the disciple of Elijiah and was given a double portion of the Prophet Elijiah’s spirit. He is most famously known for blessing a widow with a miraculous amount of oil to sell and save herself and her son. He is also known for raising the Shunammite woman’s son who had died.
Quote: “…Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.’ 2Kings 16-17
Fun Fact: Elisha was recorded to have performed more miracles in the Old Testament than anyone except for Moses.
