Spiritual Message of the Day 13/11

Spiritual Message of the Day from Fr Jonathan:

“Good measure, pressed down, shaken together” Luke 6:38

These are the words of Jesus on the sermon on the mountain. It simply says do your utmost to GIVE THE PEOPLE THEIR RIGHTS.

A true Christian is the one who applies the commandments and not only comes to church or even more is a servant in the church.

Give the rights at work: The Lord is my true boss so whether my boss sees me or not I give what is right. The clients are the sons and daughters of God, I give them the due care out of the fear of God.

Give the rights due to your family: Do not steal inheritance that is belonging to your siblings when you are in charge of it; kids give the right of full respect to your parents even though they are from an older generation or you think they are from a different culture; think of the right of your sons and daughters in law to feel loved and accepted as they are; think of the rights grand parents have to enjoy your sons and daughters and respect this right.

Give the rights due to God: of ½ hour of your day in worship and read the bible and spiritual books each day; of your tithe; of your heart to endeavour always to love the Lord more than anything in life.

I’m afraid if we don’t do that we may hear the voice of Jesus saying “leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” Matthew 5:24.

Do not leave it too late lest you hear it at the door of heaven, there you can’t go back to give your brother his rights.
