Contemplation (verse 4)
Our Christ came to the broken souls to bring them hope, not to hurt the feelings of sinners, nor to flatter them; to utter the Truth with love, so as to treat every raw wound, and to support every tired soul.
+ Fr Tadros Malaty

N.B: “Smoking flax” refers to a lamp that is nearly out of oil, producing more smoke than light (read verse 4).

Prayer
Lord, You have shown us from the beginning why You came for us, the love that You have towards us, the promises You made to us, the fallen, the broken; Gentiles & Jewish alike. Help me to truly believe and appreciate how much You want me to come to You. After all, You said Yourself “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
