Contemplation (verse 6)
Like the Jews who persecuted Christ, they imagined their observance of the Law was acceptable to the Father, and he therefore shows that in doing this they displeased not only Christ, but the Father also, for that they fell away thereby not from Christ only, but from the Father also
+ St John Chrysostom
Personal Reflection
How often do we observe God’s “rules” rather than what is in our hearts? Do we look at our relationship with God like completing a checklist or do we concentrate on a deeper, intimate connection?
Bible Knowledge Question
What caused St Paul to marvel?
Prayer
Dear Lord, You are a God after our hearts and love but at times, like the Galatians, we look at Your “rules” very literally. When we deviate from Christ and start to fixate on “rules” only related to outward appearances, quickly bring us back to the path that reminds us to assess our hearts
