Twice Freed is an amazing book to read. It is mostly based on Onemius and he is the main character, he is a slave and that he wants to be free. Onemius is a very strong character and he doesn't believe in Christ, it is around the time of Paul the Apostle. I personally loved this book and it is a bit complicated and I would recommend the book from ages 9 to 15. It does get a bit violent and sad and there is a minnor ammount of torture. There is another character and her name is Eirene and she is a rich merchant’s daughter. Onemius mainly wants to be free and have Eirene’s love. Throughout his journey to freedom, Onemius first has to gain enough money to be able to get free. He tries to believe in Christ but he does have so much hatred in his heart.
This book is a very nice and enjoyable read. The Author teaches you about christian living and life of repentance , love , honesty. I really encourage you to read this book. It is very exciting and he understands what it’s like to be a child and shows it in the book. The first part of the book is an autobiography . It details his journey into priesthood, and that the struggles in making important decisions in his life, like everyone else. My favourite quote “My goal is to help you see where God wants you to be, how He wants you to live and what your life should look like and could look like if you allow Him to lead it for you.” I think that you would enjoy this book if you are searching for meaning for your life. I recommend it for anyone who is in pursuit of God’s will in their life, specifically the age of 10 and above.
Raising Dragons is a thrilling yet gut wrenching roller coaster of action and comedy 4 book series, topping it all off with the brilliant genre of biblical fiction mingled throughout it. The main character, William, journeys to find out that he is a part dragon (Anthrozil) and together with Bonnie, another part dragon, search for a mysterious ‘candle stone’. Suspense rises as they both learn secrets about their parents . All the while, hunted by dragon haters and evil sorcerers with only their professor and a couple ancient prophecies to guide them. This series is undoubtedly one of the best christian fiction series I have read, right up there with the Wingfeather Saga. Amazing for anyone who enjoys stories about King Arthur and dragons, I personally enjoyed this book as it left me hungry for more at the end of each chapter. Demonstrating perseverance in the face of trials, this series teaches young readers resilience and faith, guiding them on their spiritual journey with God. The suspense in this novel made me want to read the next book in the series with each book ending in an onslaught of cliffhangers. I believe this book is best read for people aged 11-16, depending on their reading levels. The author grabs your attention by immersing you in the character's emotions, capturing your imagination.
Shadow Chaser, by Jerel Law , is a jam-packed adventure novel, starring Jonah Stone who struggles within the spiritual world. In a metaphorical context, his struggles are exemplified; targeted by the fallen angel of disease, accordingly labelled Mch'ala. An exciting twist is taken on the Bible, contextualising the situations through their impact on an 'ordinary' boy. He learns how to endure multiple tests of faith, leaving morals to audiences regarding issues within their everyday lives. This epic book is just one of the 'Son of Angles' series; the whole set is featured at St Mark's Library. It is a great read for apt readers between the ages 7- 15 and is highly recommended for a fictional uptake on the Bible.
