St Abba Zosima

Abba Zosima had a brother once speak about him many bad shocking things, on hearing this Abba Zosima said ” he is the hot burning iron of Jesus that was sent to cure my vainglorious soul” Abba Zosima accepted it with joy and when the brother came back to apologize and repent from his bad talk. Abba Zosima in fact said to the brother I never stopped loving you and never stopped praying for you every day.

To prove my love for you once I suffered terribly from a pain in my eye. But immediately, upon remembering you I made the sign of the cross and said ” Lord Jesus Christ by the prayers of this brother, make me well” and immediately I was cured”
“From that day on this brother placed absolute faith in me, ceased slandering me and lovingly showed me great honour”

St. Theophan the Recluse

A wise custom of the ancient Holy Fathers: when greeting each other, they didn’t ask about health or anything else, but rather about prayer, saying “How is your prayer life?” Prayer was considered by them to a be a sign of the spiritual life, and they called it the breath of the spirit. If the body has breath, it lives; if breathing stops, life comes to an end. So it is with the spirit. If there is prayer, the soul lives; without prayer, there is no spiritual life.

The Church needs your help to serve in the areas of food and sports.

Here are the opportunities for blessings:

 

1. Rockdale Raiders Soccer Canteen:

– Weekdays (Tues – Thurs): 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

– Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

– Sundays: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

 

2️. Rockdale Raiders Soccer Coaches:

– weeknights 2 hours one weeknight

– 2 hours on Saturday or Sunday, depending on your team.

 

3️. Rockdale Raiders Grounds Managers:

– Saturday mornings approximately 3 hours

 

4. 5&2 Café: Making coffee:

– Wednesdays & Fridays after the early mass

– Friday nights

– Saturday mornings

– Sunday mornings

7. Parking Guidelines

 

Please take note of the following guidelines when parking your car and take care of our neighbours:

Avoid Parking Near Driveways or Corners: Always ensure that your vehicle does not block any driveways and that you avoid parking too close to corners, which can obstruct the view for other drivers and pedestrians.

Quiet Arrival and Departure: Please be as quiet as possible when arriving and leaving in your vehicles. This consideration will help maintain the tranquillity of our neighbourhood.

No Parking on Broe Avenue: Please observe the specific rule of not parking along Broe Avenue as this creates a traffic bottleneck which is dangerous.

Respect Neighbours’ Reserved Spots: Some neighbours may place bins or other markers to reserve parking spots for their households. Out of respect for their needs and requests, please do not move these markers or park in these reserved spots.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding. Should you have any concerns or require assistance regarding parking, please feel free to contact the church office.

يقدم رسالة هذا الاسبوع قدس أبونا اغوسطينوس

دروس من آباء البرية

 في ذات يوم اساء راهب للأنبا زوسيما وتكلم عنه كلام سيء للغاية، فلما علم انبا زوسيما قال: ” هذا الراهب هو حديد السيد المسيح الساخن الحارق الذي أُرسل لعلاج نفسي الفانية المتعالية”. تقبل أنبا زوسيما هذا الكلام بفرح ولما جاء الراهب ليعتذر ويقدم توبة عن ما صدر منه من كلام. قال له أنبا زوسيما أنه لم يتوقف عن محبته أو عن الصلاة من أجله كل يوم.

بل أضاف قائلاً ” لأثبت محبتي لك، أنه في يوم ما شعر بألم شديد في عيني. ولكن بمجرد أن تذكرتك رشمت علامة الصليب وقلت ” ربي يسوع المسيح بصلاوات هذا الراهب اشفيني” وفي الحال تم الشفاء”

منذ ذلك اليوم وضع هذا الراهب ثقة كبيرة في وتوقف عن إهانتي واظهر لي احترام شديد.

انبا زوسيما

هناك عادة تتميز بالحكمة بين الآباء القدماء القديسين: عند تقديم التحية لبعضهم البعض كل يوم، لا يسألون عن الصحة أو عن أي شيء آخر، بل عن الصلاة، قائلين: ” كيف حال حياة الصلاة الخاصة بك؟”. فهم يعتبرون الصلاة هي علامة الحياة الروحية، ويسمونها نفخة الروح. إذا كان الجسد يتنفس إذاً فهو حي؛ إذا وقف التنفس تنتهي الحياة. وهذا هو الحال مع الروح، إذا كان هناك صلاة، فالنفس حية، ولكن بدون صلاة، لا توجد حياة روحية.

يُرجى الانتباه إلى الإرشادات التالية عند ركن سيارتك ومراعاة الجيران

تجنب ركن السيارات بجوار مداخل المنازل أو بجانب زوايا الشارع: تأكد دائماً من عدم سد أي مداخل/مخارج المنازل والامتناع عن الركن بالقرب من زوايا الشارع حيث يتم حجب الرؤية لغيرك من سائقي السيارات والمشاة.

الوصول والمغادرة الهادئة: يُرجى التزام الهدوء على قدر الإمكان عند الوصول إلى الكنيسة وعند مغادرتها. سيساعد هذا الحرص على الاحتفاظ بهدوء وسلام منطقتنا.

عدم الركن في Broe Avenue: يُرجى الحرص على عدم ركن السيارات في Broe Avenue مما يسبب اختناق مروري وهو أمر خطير.

احترام الأماكن المحجوزة الخاصة بالجيران. قد يضع بعض الجيران صناديق القمامة أو غيرها لحجز أماكن لسياراتهم. ينبغي احترام احتياجاتهم ورغباتهم، يرجى عدم تحريك هذه العلامات وعدم الركن في الأماكن المحجوزة.
