Contemplation (verse 1-8)
“Jeremiah speaks of the coming of the Righteous Branch, a prophecy fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the true King and High Priest. Unlike the corrupt rulers of Israel, Christ rules with justice and truth, gathering His people into His eternal kingdom. Just as David was a shepherd-king, Christ is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His flock. He is our righteousness, for through Him, we receive salvation, justification, and new life.”

New Testament Reference to this reading: Luke 1:32-33

Bible Knowledge Question
What is the significance of David in this prophecy about Christ? What parallels can we draw?
Prayer
Lord, You carefully crafted this plan of salvation for us. You showed us how much You care about us, Your sheep. You told us “I am the good shepherd” who “gives His life for the sheep”. Help me appreciate this, help me to be thankful, help me to be Your sheep and come back to You and stay in Your pasture and walk where You lead me. Amen.
