St Eusebius of Vericelli
Claim to fame: He affirmed the divinity of Jesus against Arianism, along with Athanasius. Quote: “the faithful must not consider the cities of the world as their permanent dwelling place but to seek the future city, the definitive heavenly Jerusalem.” Fun fact: Despite not being martyred, in the middle ages he was sometimes referred to as a martyr in order to honour the sufferings he endured in standing up for the faith. |
