Saint Mark the Evangelist
Claim to fame: He was the first Pope of Alexandria and one of the Seventy Apostles. The spread of Christianity in Egypt is attributed to him. His house was the first Christian church, where they ate the Passover.
Quote: “He came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying” (Acts 12:12)
Fun fact: St Mark and St Peter are related! St. Peter was married to the cousin of Aristopolus, Mark’s father.
