Spiritual Message from Fr Mark:
“Yes” or “no”.
Abouna Yacoub loves the idea of promises. Promises we learn from the Bible and taking them as rules for us to live by. Let us take this rule from our mother St Mary.
IF i say YES to the Lord when He calls my name. He will say YES to me when I call on His. The more difficult it is for me to say Yes. Then He will say Yes to difficult requests I make.
St Mary agrees to bear the Christ in her womb, a difficult yes. So when she asks Christ to turn the water to wine, even though it wasn’t His time, Ofcourse He can’t refuse.
May we use this promise. Let us say YES to Him, especially when it’s hardest, and watch how He says Yes to even our most difficult requests.
“With her Yes she gave herself unreservedly to God, expressing her readiness to be the handmaid and bondservant of the Lord for Him to do with as He pleased and as He said. A Yes like this can be uttered only by a person whose desires and wishes are completely one with the will of God. This was the Yes of Love”
