1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Augustinos:
“The thief was the first to be welcomed into Paradise”
As we are coming to close to Passion week a saint that is only celebrated once a year at the 6th Hour of Good Friday, this Saint is Saint Thief Dimas.
This was a man naked on the cross who recognised and believed in our Lord Jesus, he was not baptised, he didn’t have holy communion, Jesus didn’t heal him, Jesus didn’t take his pain away, this man didn’t give to poor, this man never prayed in his life all he asked was “ Lord remember me when you come into your Kingdom”( Luke 23:4) and in response the last act of Jesus did in His ministry was on the cross it was not a miracle, it was not a sermon, it was not a command, it was not a instruction but it was a simple act of Mercy “ today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43) While our Lord Jesus dies on the cross He is giving His unlimited uncomprehended divine mercy and it is only through Mercy and the cross of Christ we can all be saved.
The thief’s repentance rewarded him with the honour of being the first to enter into paradise, I could only image the scene of this great procession of the righteous souls coming out hades with our Lord Jesus while the angels of heaven waiting at the doors Paradise for Our Lord Jesus coming to open and with Him all the old testament Prophets Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Isaiah, Elijah and all the righteous souls and all of the sudden they are surprised that the Lord allows the Right Hand thief to enter into Paradise first because this is the honour of repentance as the Lord Jesus said “ there will be more joy in heaven for one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7)
The divine mercy of God can only be experienced by true repentance, repentance is not episodic meaning a period then returning to our old ways and old habits, but true repentance is change of life and embrace into the bosom of Christ and never letting go, this is the beautiful picture of the father and the return of prodigal son.
God is extremely merciful to sinners no matter how great the sins are he is willing to forget and give us mercy. St Isaac the Syrian said, “As a handful of sand thrown into the wide ocean, so are the sins of ALL flesh (people) compared to the mercy of God”.
St Isaac also said, “if only the righteous are to enter into heaven, then only one in 10,000 will be in heaven” Lets experience Gods mercy this lent through our true repentance putting away all obstacles of sin, all sins of the flesh, all pride, all love of the world and its distractions and enjoy the deep love of God that is beyond comprehension. We need God so much now in this ever changing and challenging world.
2. Weekday Liturgies during Lent
Daily liturgies Monday – Friday:
Early: 5 – 7am
Regular: 8:30 – 10am
Late: 1 – 2:30pm
3. Thursday 6 April changes
No late masses (1pm and 5pm) on Thursday 6th April. Thursday night the church will celebrate the Eve of the Lordly feast of annunciation by praying the vesper. Accordingly, there will be no late masses. Vesper starts at 7pm along with the reception of Fr. Anthony.
A blessed feast of the annunciation to all.
Andeel mass on Friday 7th April (Public Holiday) will be prayed as usual. Please refer to attached program.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية:
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبوناأوغسطينوس
"كان اللص أول من رُحب به في الفردوس"
ونحن نقترب من أسبوع الآلام، نحتفل بقديس يتم الاحتفال به مرة واحدة فقط في السنة -في الساعة السادسة من الجمعة العظيمة، هذا القديس هو القديس ديماس اللص.
كان هذا رجلاً عارياً على الصليب اعترف بربنا يسوع وآمن به، ولم يكن معتمداً، ولم يتناول جسد السيد المسيح ودمه، ولم يشفيه السيد المسيح، ولم يرفع عنه آلامه، هذا الرجل لم يعطِ للفقراء، ولم يصلي أبدًا في حياته، كل ما سأله هو "يا رب اذكرني متى جئت في ملكوتك" (لوقا ٢٣:٤) واستجابةً لذلك، كان آخر عمل قام به السيد المسيح في خدمته على الأرض وهو على الصليب. لم يكن أخر عمل له معجزة، ولا عظة، ولا وصية، ولا إرشادات، بل كان مجرد عمل رحمة "اليوم ستكون معي في الفردوس" (لوقا ٢٣:٤٣). بينما يموت ربنا يسوع المسيح على الصليب، يهب رحمته الإلهية غير المفهومة وغير المحدودة. لا يمكننا جميعًا أن نخلص إلا من خلال رحمة وصليب السيد المسيح.
لقد كافأت توبة اللص بشرف كونه أول من يدخل الفردوس، ولم يسعني إلا أن أتخيل مشهد هذا الموكب العظيم لأرواح الأبرار الخارجة من الجحيم مع ربنا يسوع بينما ملائكة السماء ينتظرون عند أبواب الفردوس مجيء الرب يسوع ليفتح ومعه كل أنبياء العهد القديم إبراهيم وإسحاق ويعقوب وموسى وأشعياء وإيليا وجميع الأبرار وفجأة يسمح الرب للص اليمين بالدخول إلى الفردوس أولاً لأن هذا هو شرف التوبة كما قال الرب يسوع "تفرح السماء بخاطئ واحد يتوب" (لوقا ٧:١٥)
لا يمكن اختبار رحمة الله إلا من خلال التوبة الحقيقية، والتوبة ليست توبة وقتية، بمعنى فترة ثم نعود إلى طرقنا القديمة وعاداتنا القديمة، ولكن التوبة الحقيقية هي تغيير الحياة والتمسك بحضن السيد المسيح وعدم تركه، هذه هي الصورة الجميلة للأب وعودة الابن الضال.
إن الله رحيم جداً مع الخطاة مهما عظمت الخطايا فهو على استعداد أن ينساها ويرحمنا. قال القديس إسحق السرياني: "كمثل حفنة من الرمل تُلقى في المحيط الواسع كذلك خطايا كل البشر مقارنة برحمة الله".
قال أيضاً القديس إسحاق "إذا كان الأبرار فقط هم الذين سيدخلون الملكوت، فسيدخلها واحد فقط من كل ١٠،٠٠٠". فلنختبر رحمة الله في هذا الصوم الكبير من خلال توبتنا الحقيقية، ونزيل كل المعوقات التي تصنعها الخطية، وكل خطايا الجسد، وكل كبرياء، وكل محبة العالم وملاهيه والتمتع بمحبة الله العميقة التي تفوق الإدراك. نحن بحاجة ماسة إلى الله الآن في هذا العالم المتغير والمليء بالتحديات.

٣. تغييرات يوم الخميس ٦ أبريل
لن يُقام قداسات متأخرة (١ظهراً و٥مساءً) يوم الخميس الموافق ٦ أبريل. ستحتفل الكنيسة مساء يوم الخميس بليلة عيد البشارة وهو عيد سيدي بصلاة عشية. وبالتالي، لن تُقام قداسات متأخرة. تبدأ العشية الساعة ٧ مساءً مع الاحتفال باستقبال أبونا أنثوني.
كل عيد بشارة وأنتم بخير
سيُقام قداس القنديل العام يوم الجمعة الموافق ٧ أبريل (عطلة رسمية) كالمعتاد.
٤. برنامج الخدمات
