Spiritual message of the week by Father Anthony:
The heart of David
There is a story in the Bible (2 Samuel chapter 24) where David wants to make an offering to the Lord.
A man named Araunah finds out about this. Araunah kindly offers his land, his animal and his wood for David to make his sacrifice. It would cost David nothing. David can make his offering to the Lord for free!!!
What was David’s response?
Then David said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.” (2 Samuel 24:24)
How blessed are the hearts who offer to the Lord their best.
2. Saturday Kiahk Praises 7&4
The beautiful Kiahk Praises have started!
This Saturday 16 December:
Vesper: 6:30pm followed by Tasbeha
Mass: 11pm
A blessed feast for all.
3. Nativity Fasting
Please note the following services during the Nativity Fasting:
+ Additional 2 late liturgies during the fast:
Wednesdays and Fridays 1-2:30pm.
+ Bible studies:
It is a good time during fasting to have a healthy spiritual meal through the bible study meetings:
Mondays: Arabic 7-9pm, and English: 7:30-9pm
+ Tasbeha and prayer meetings:
Saturdays: 8-10pm Tasbeha
Wednesdays: 7-8:30 pm Arabic prayer meeting
Wednesdays: 9-10pm Tasbeha
Fasting is the time to be with God more. Arrange a time to see your confession father for a personal spiritual program during fasting. Always pray for the church and all the servants.

5. St Wanas Library Summer Holiday Competition
Attention all parents! Looking for a productive outlet for your kids this summer? Check out this creative summer competition for all ages.. – Theme: be transformed by God– Due date: 11 February – It could be anything from a video game to a short story, song or even a cake!! 6. Church Bible Study Competition – Galatians
English and Arabic versions of the Bible study competition of St Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians are now available.
Hard copies are available at church.
7. Service Expo – this Sunday 17 December
Do you want to glorify God and show Him your love? Then come join a service in the Church. The Church has so many different services and the vision is for everyone to serve. You can check them all out on Sunday 17th of December at 11am-1pm in the Church Hall in the Service Expo. You will be able to talk to different servants from each service and see how you can help.
