1.Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Jonathan:
At Christmas, kiss Baby Jesus
When I visited the Holy Land for the first time 6 years ago, I found that one of the most holy and popular places to visit among the pilgrims is Bethlehem church, where Baby Jesus was born. It’s a very tiny place crowded with pilgrims who visit this place reflecting on this very unique story written in the Bible. They are all keen to touch this place as if touching the face of Baby Jesus or kissing His face. Of course, Baby Jesus is so special in the hearts and minds of Christians.
The good news is, we do not need to travel to the Holy Land to experience this joy of touching Baby Jesus or to kiss His face. The beauty in celebrating Christmas is that the church prays the liturgy at night and offers the Body of Jesus to be kissed through partaking of it at the end of the liturgy. The church is very keen that each member of the congregation attends the Christmas liturgy and kisses Baby Jesus on this special night.
A number of years ago, St Mark’s church fathers expressed their wish that no one would miss this Holy Kiss, so we began praying the early liturgies so that young parents with little kids and the elderly people in the congregation do not miss this Holy Kiss on Christmas Eve.

2. Christmas Eve – Saturday 6 January
Early Services:
6pm start: For parents with little kids in English church
6pm start: For elderly in St Wanas church
6pm start: For general congregation in the Arabic church
Second Services:
9pm start: Arabic service in the Arabic church
9pm start: English service in the English church.
3. Christmas Day – Sunday 7 January
St Mark’s Church Christmas Celebration: 11am – 1pm
Activities include Bubble soccer, escape room, fairy floss and more. Please see flyer below.

7. Learn Your Faith
The Church is pleased to launch the LYF (Learn Your Faith) program. It is a 1-year program (in English) designed for anyone from our beloved congregation who would like to get deeper in their bible knowledge, stronger in their faith and grow Spiritually.

8. St Mark’s Tutoring – Years 6 and 7 Maths Algebra
St Mark’s Tutoring will be running Year 6 and 7 Maths Algebra lessons. This one-week intensive course will run between Monday 15th – Friday 19th January from 10:30am – 1pm (with a 15-minute break in between). It will be taught by HSC Graduate, Andrew Saleeb who achieved a very high result in Mathematics Extension 1 and 2 as an accelerant in 2022. Lessons will be intensive with lesson quizzes, homework, and final topic exam. Please ensure students are motivated to work hard through this intensive course and complete all homework and classwork provided following each lesson. Please see poster for contact details.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس ابوناجوناثان،
في عيد الميلاد المجيد، قم بتقبيل الطفل يسوع
عندما قمت بزيارة الأراضي المقدسة لأول مرة منذ 6 سنوات، وجدت أن أكثر المناطق قداسة وشعبية للزيارة بين الزوار هي كنيسة بيت لحم حيث ولٍد الطفل يسوع. وهي مكان صغير جداً ومكتظ بالزوار للتأمل في هذه القصة الفريدة جداً المذكورة في الكتاب المقدس. وكلهم يحرصون على لمس هذا المكان وكأنهم يلمسون وجه الطفل يسوع أو يقبلون وجهه.
وبالطبع، الطفل يسوع له مكانة خاصة في قلوب وعقول المسيحين. الخبر السار هو أننا لا نحتاج إلى السفر إلى الأراضي المقدسة لنختبر فرحة لمس الطفل يسوع أو لتقبيل وجهه.
الجميل في الاحتفال بعيد الميلاد المجيد هو أن الكنيسة تصلي القداس في المساء وتقدم جسد يسوع لنقبله من خلال التناول منه في نهاية القداس. تحرص الكنيسة جداً على أن يحضر كل فرد من أفراد الشعب قداس العيد ويقبل الطفل يسوع في هذه الليلة الخاصة.
من عدة سنوات مضت، عبر آباء كنيسة القديس مارمرقس عن امنيتهم بألا يفوت أي شخص هذه القبلة المقدسة، فبدأنا في إقامة قداسات مبكرة حتى لا يفوت الوالدين الذين لديهم اطفال صغار أو كبار السن من الشعب هذه القبلة المقدسة في ليلة عيد الميلاد المجيد.

٢. ليلة عيد الميلاد المجيد – السبت 6 يناير
الخدمة الأولى:
6:00 مساءً: قداس للعائلات ذوي أطفال صغار في الكنيسة الإنجليزي
6:00 مساءً: قداس لكبار السن في كنيسة انبا ونس
6:00 مساءً قداس لشعب الكنيسة في الكنيسة العربي
الخدمة الثانية:
9:00 مساءً: قداس باللغة العربية في الكنيسة العربي
9:00 مساءً: قداس باللغة الإنجليزية في الكنيسة الإنجليزي
٣. يوم عيد الميلاد – الأحد 7 يناير
احتفال كنيسة سانت مارك بعيد الميلاد المجيد: 11 صباحاً – 1 ظهراً

٧. تعلم عن إيمانك
يسر الكنيسة أن تعلن عن افتتاح برنامج جديد ( تعلم عن إيمانك). يستمر البرنامج لمدة عام ( باللغة الإنجليزية) تم تصميمه ليتناسب مع أي فرد من أفراد شعبنا المحبوب الذين يرغبون في التعمق في معرفتهم بالإنجيل ولتقوية إيمانهم ولتنميتهم الروحية.

٨. سانت مارك تيوترينج (تدريس) –مادة الرياضيات فرع الجبر للصف السادس والسابع
ستدير سانت مارك تيوترينج دروس قي الجبر للصف السادس والسابع. سيُدار هذا الكورس المكثف لمدة اسبوع من يوم الاثنين 15 يناير إلى الجمعة 19 يناير من 10:30 صباحاً حتى 1 ظهراً (يتخلل هذه الفترة 15 دقيقة راحة). سيقوم بالتدريس اندرو صليب الذي حصل على شهادة الثانوية العامة محققاً نجاح باهر العام الماضي في المستوى الرفيع الأول والثاني في مادة الرياضيات وهو في الصف الحادي عشر. ستكون الدروس مكثفة بها مسائل وواجبات وامتحان في الموضوع النهائي. برجاء التأكد من حماس الطلاب للعمل باجتهاد خلال هذا الكورس المكثف ومن تكملتهم كل الواجبات التي سيتم تقديمها بعد كل درس. برجاء الاطلاع على البوستر المرفق
