1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message for this week by Father Jonathan:
God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Few years ago, I was invited with one of my fathers the church priests to visit a saintly mother who lives with her son in a place near the church. When we arrived, we saw a mass that was streamed on the TV and was about to finish. We were touched by the way this mother was wearing a head scarf and sitting in complete reverence as if she was in the church, to the extent that we didn’t want to interrupt her and we greeted her after the mass was finished.
When we commented on what we saw, her son mentioned that when he gets back from work in the evening, she usually asks him to wait until the mass (that is on TV) and the partaking of the Holy Communion are finished then they could eat, he jokingly asked us to convince her to stop this habit.
My father the priest told the son that his mother has great faith, she is participating in the Lord’s body and blood in spirit because the worship of God must be in spirit.
I remembered this true story while we are now in lockdown. We can’t physically attend the mass and partake of the Holy Communion, but the one who has faith and lives by the spirit feels peace, content and the Lord’s strong presence, even if the Lord allowed that we do not practice prayers and sacraments physically but in spirit through streaming.
O Lord, may we feel your presence in the spirit in every place we attend, even if we are in captivity very far away from Jerusalem where Daniel the prophet strongly enjoyed You while in the lions’ den.
2. Feast of the Apostles: this Monday 12th July
There will be a Live-streaming for 2 liturgies (including the Lakan liturgy).
1st Liturgy. 5 – 7:30 am
2nd Liturgy. 8 – 10:30 am
Happy Feast of the Apostles.
3. Timetable for Streamed Liturgies
Sunday:
Early Mass: 6 – 8am
English Mass: 8:30 – 10am
Arabic Mass: 8:30 – 10am
Daily including Saturday: 8:30 – 10am
Please note, as per NSW government regulations, the congregation are still not allowed to attend church.

5. Who am I? – Seminar – Saturday 10th July
In this session we will explore our identity as Christians today and the direction we take our families.
An opportunity to stop and think; how would I describe myself? And what does it really mean to be a Christian as an individual and family. Presented this seminar will be strategies to build, sustain and grow this identity – staying strong and passionate about who we are
We are blessed to have Fr Elijah & Lucy Iskander; Christian mentor and counselor of 28 years to take us on this journey.

6. Canteen Services
The canteen will be open during the following times:
1. Friday night from: 7pm – 10:30pm
2. Saturday mornings from: 10am – 12pm
3. Sunday mornings from: 10am – 12pm

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية:
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع ابونا جوناثان
"الله روح والذين يعبدونه فبالروح والحق يعبدونه"
من عدد من السنوات دعيت مع أحد آبائي الكهنة في الكنيسة لزيارة ام قديسة تحيا هي و ابنها في مسكن قريب من الكنيسة. عند وصولنا وجدنا التليفزيون يذيع قداسا أوشك على نهايته، وقد لمس قلوبنا كيف ان هذه الأم تلبس الإيشارب وتجلس في ورع تام وكأنها في الكنيسة، حتى أننا لم نرد أن نقطع خشوعها وسلمنا عليها بعد انتهاء القداس. وعلقنا على هذا الأمر فذكر الأبن وهو يضحك إنه عند رجوعه من عمله يومياً مساءاً تطلب منه والدته أن ينتظر إلى أن ينتهي القداس (في التليفزيون) وينتهي التناول ثم نأكل. وطلب ضاحكاً ان نقنعها بالعدول عن ذلك..
فقال أبى الكاهن ان والدتك لها إيمان عظيم وهي بالروح كأنها في الكنيسة وبالروح تشارك في جسد الرب ودمه لأن عبادة الله تكون بالروح.
تذكرت هذه القصة الحقيقية ونحن في اللوك داون وممنوعين (بالجسد) من حضور القداس ومن التناول ولكن من له إيمان ويحيا بالروح يشعر بالسلام والشبع وحضور المسيح القوى حتى لو أمر الرب أن نتابع الصلوات والأسرار ليس بالجسد ولكن بالروح (عن طريق الستريمنج)
يا رب اشعرنا بحضورك بالروح في كل مكان نكون فيه حتى لو في السبي بعيداً جداً عن أورشليم حيث كان دانيال النبي يستمتع بك وبقوة وهو في جب الاسود.

٥.من أنا؟ – ندوة يوم السبت 10 يوليو
في هذه الندوة سنستكشف هويتنا كمسيحيين هذا العصر والاتجاه الذي نوجه إليه عائلاتنا.
فرصة للتوقف والتفكير. كيف أصف نفسي وماذا يعني حقًا أن تكون مسيحيًا كفرد وكعائلة. ستعرض في هذه الندوة استراتيجيات لبناء هذه الهوية والحفاظ عليها وتنميتها – البقاء قويًا ومتحمسًا لمن نحن.
سنتبارك بوجود السيدة لوسي إسكندر؛ وهي مرشدة مسيحية واخصائية مشورة منذ 28 عامًا وستصحبنا في هذه الرحلة.
بعد هذه الندوة سوف سنتناول بعض المرطبات الخفيفة. وفي هذه الأثناء، ستكون هناك أنشطة لجميع الأطفال في كنيسة القديس أنبا ونس مع البيتزا في جو دافئ.
