1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message for the week by Father Elijah:
A common difficulty in our spiritual lives is striving for a particular virtue and feeling we are making slow (or even no) progress. St Isaac the Syrian explains that this is by God’s design:
“It is not becoming that great things should fall into our hands easily lest the gift of God should be thought to be mean because of its being acquired without difficulty. All that is acquired with labor, is guarded with caution.”
St Isaac goes on to say, “Thirst after Jesus then he will satisfy you with his love. Shut your eyes to the precious things of the world then you will be deemed worthy of a peace given by God to reign in your heart. Restrain yourself from the allurements that are shining for the eyes then you will be deemed worthy of spiritual joy.”
May the Lord show us this spiritual joy, fill our hearts with peace, satisfy us with His love and bless our spiritual struggles.

Attendance for SS (Sunday School) masses will be managed by SS servants.
Note Weekday masses do not require bookings and remain unchanged:

Please remember to cancel your booked tickets if your circumstances change and you are no longer able to attend weekend mass. Also follow previously stated guidelines to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
Important: Please continue to check availability of tickets/seats for weekend masses as people cancel bookings, and where possible, the church may add more seats as restrictions ease.
3. Shuttle Bus
The Shuttle bus service is back in operation from this Sunday 14/11. Please be encouraged to drop off your family at church and park at the Arncliffe car park. The shuttle bus will pick-up and drop-off drivers to prevent you from walking a long distance to church.
4. Celebration of the feast of St Wanas – Wednesday 24th November at 7pm
Join us in celebrating the patron saint of our kids church and a beloved saint to all of us.
Program includes, vesper, procession, kids hymns, experiences with Anba Wanas, Coptic Schools presentation, spiritual talk and cutting the cake in the church hall.
5. Lion’s Cup – 18 December at 12pm
The Youth Lion’s Cup is Back (St Mark’s 6-a-side outdoor soccer competition for Year 12+).
18 December at 12pm at the Seymour Shaw Stadium, Miranda.

6. Christmas Carols @Narrow Gate – December 18
Christmas Carols will be held at the Narrow Gate: 6 – 8pm on Saturday 18 December.
Get ready to enjoy the Choir, Food Stalls, Jumping Castles, Animal Farm, Santa with gifts and more!

7. Christmas Cookies
Merry Christmas! We have started crafting the Christmas cookies! Please call or send a message to Nancy on: 0414 661 031 to place your order. Cost is $30/Kg. Please also let us know the date you prefer to pickup your order.
8. Soccer 2022 Pre-Registrations
Pre-registrations is open for 2022 teams with Rockdale Raiders.
Male teams: Ages: 12-17, 18-35, 35-45, 45+
Mixed teams: Ages 5-11

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا إيلايجا
من الصعوبات الشائعة في حياتنا الروحية هو الجهاد للحصول على فضيلة معينة والشعور بأننا نحرز تقدمًا بطيئًا (أو حتى لا نحرز أي تقدم). يوضح القديس إسحاق السرياني أن هذا الأمر من قصد الله:
"لا يصح أن تقع الأشياء العظيمة في أيدينا بسهولة لئلا يُعتقد أن عطية الله رخيصة بسبب اكتسابها دون صعوبة. كل ما يتم اكتسابه بالعمل، يتم حراسته بحرص".
ويستكمل القديس إسحاق قائلاً: "تعطش ليسوع فيُشبعك بمحبته. أغمض عينيك عن الأشياء الثمينة في العالم، فتستحق السلام الذي يعطيه الله ليملك على قلبك. امنع نفسك من المغريات التي تلمع أمام العيون فتستحق الفرح الروحي ".
ليرينا الرب هذا الفرح الروحي، ويملأ قلوبنا بالسلام، ويرضينا بحبه، ويبارك جهادنا الروحي.

٣.خدمة الاتوبيس
تعاود خدمة الأتوبيس نشاطها اعتبارًا من يوم الأحد الموافق١٤/١١. نحثك على إنزال عائلتك في الكنيسة والوقوف في موقف سيارات ارنكليف. سينقل الأتوبيس السائقين ليعفيهم من المشي مسافة طويلة إلى الكنيسة.
٤.الاحتفال بعيد القديس أنبا ونس – الأربعاء ٢٤ نوفمبر الساعة ٧ مساءً
انضم إلينا في الاحتفال بالقديس الراعي لكنيسة أطفالنا والقديس المحبوب لنا جميعًا.
يتضمن البرنامج العشية والزفة، ترانيم للأطفال، خبرات مع الأنبا ونس، عرض للمدارس القبطية، كلمة روحية وتقطيع الكيكة في قاعة الكنيسة.
