1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Augustinos:
The Saints are alive
Our church is rich with many saints and angels who are alive and are with us in every liturgy around the altar and the body and blood of Christ. They are there to intercede for us day and night in front of the throne of God. We need to teach our children constantly the importance of the lives of saints and how they lived and reached sanctity and their presence with us. The church reminds us to read the book of saints Synaxarion everyday so we can imitate their lives.
One saint said “if we were to know what happens around the altar of God with its angels and saint and the presence of the glory of God, we would not want to leave the church”

The Late Fr. Yousef Assad a well-known priest tells a Story “One time a certain Priest began praying the Divine Liturgy until he reached the section of the Commemoration of Saints. When he began to say the part and “Most of all the pure, full of Glory the ever Virgin the Holy Theotokos St Mary .. he immediately saw a young woman dressed in the purest white garment standing the east of the Sanctuary, facing the Altar, and when said St John the Baptist he would also appear and stand beside St Mary, and he said St Stephen he would also appear and stand in the Altar. And this occurred at the utterance of every name of the saints in the commemoration until the Altar area was full and crowed with saints.
The Priest motioned to the young deacon standing beside him and whispered to him “move aside and make room my son, the altar is crowded because of the saints, and I haven’t even finished the commemoration yet!’
The deacon was confused and looked around him and there was one else there but him, there was no one in the Altar area.
The Priest replied, interrupting the prayer, “may the Lord open your eyes, my son!” And at that moment the eyes of the deacon were indeed opened, and he saw many, many saints standing all around him, wearing white garments, with faces shining like the sun. The deacon was terrified and fell to the ground on his face, praying with fear and trembling.
From that moment and even until this deacon himself was later ordained a priest this young deacon would not allow himself to hear the commemoration of the saints without kneeling on his knees in fear, constantly remembering the day he and his spiritual father witnessed this magnificent sight.

3. St Mark’s Church Families Camp – Update
Thank you for your calls and registrations. We are overwhelmed by all the love and responses to the families camp.
We have now sold out for overnight stay and have started a waiting list.
Please keep your bookings coming through for the day visits along with the activities you would like your children to do as there is a capacity for these.

4. English Literacy Skills
Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak and listen in a way that helps us communicate effectively and make sense of the world around us.
Our new program will focus on ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) which is run in most schools by the University of NSW, NAPLAN in Term4.
We will be going through practice tests with each year class, focusing on comprehension, analysing texts, writing and much more.

5. Coptic Drama Group
The Coptic Drama Group create age-appropriate skits written, directed and performed by children, and are now enrolling Primary aged school students.

يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا أوغسطينوس
القديسون أحياء
كنيستنا غنية بالعديد من القديسين والملائكة الأحياء الذين يعيشون معنا في كل قداس حول المذبح وجسد السيد المسيح ودمه. يشفعون فينا ليلًا ونهارًا أمام عرش الله. نحتاج أن نُعلم أبنائنا باستمرار أهمية سير القديسين وكيف عاشوا ووصلوا إلى القداسة ووجودهم الدائم معنا. تذكرنا الكنيسة يومياً بقراءة سير القديسين في السنكسار حتى نقتدي بحياتهم.
قال أحد القديسين "لو ادركنا ما يحدث حول مذبح الله مع ملائكة المذبح وقديس المذبح وحضور مجد الله، فلن نرغب في مغادرة الكنيسة"
قصة جميلة مأخوذة من صفحة انستجرام للقصص الأرثوذكسية
يروي المتنيح ابونا يوسف أسعد وهو كاهن معروف هذه القصة "ذات مرة بدأ كاهن ما في صلاة القداس الإلهي حتى وصل إلى مجمع القديسين. عندما بدأ يقول الجزء و "بالأكثر القديسة المملوءة مجداً العذراء كل حين والدة الإله القديسة الطاهرة مريم.. شاهد على الفور شابة ترتدي ثوب أبيض عالي النقاء واقفة في شرق الهيكل، مقابل المذبح. وعندما ذكر اسم القديس يوحنا المعمدان ظهر هو أيضًا ووقف بجانب القديسة مريم، وعند ذكر القديس اسطفانوس، ظهر هو أيضًا ووقف في المذبح. وحدث ذلك عند نطق كل اسم من أسماء القديسين في المجمع حتى امتلأ المذبح بالقدّيسين.
أشار الكاهن إلى الشماس الشاب الواقف بجانبه وهمس له "تحرك جانباً وافسح المكان يا ولدي، فإن المذبح مزدحم بسبب القديسين، وانا لم أنتهي بعد من ذكر كل المجمع!"
ارتبك الشماس ونظر حوله ولم يكن هناك الا شخص آخر غيره، لم يرى أحداً في المذبح.
قاطع الكاهن الصلاة وقال له "الرب يفتح عينيك يا ولدي!" وفي تلك اللحظة انفتحت عيون الشماس بالفعل، ورأى العديد والعديد من القديسين يقفون حوله، يرتدون ثيابًا بيضاء، وجوههم مشرقة مثل الشمس. خاف الشماس وسقط على وجهه على الأرض، وهو يصلي خائفاً ومرتجفاً.
منذ تلك اللحظة وحتى تم تعيين هذا الشماس نفسه كاهنًا فيما بعد، لم يسمح هذا الشماس الشاب لنفسه بسماع مجمع القديسين دون الركوع على ركبتيه بمخافة، ويتذكر باستمرار اليوم الذي شهد فيه هو ووالده الروحي هذا المنظر الرائع.

٤.مهارات القراءة والكتابة باللغة الإنجليزية
معرفة القراءة والكتابة هي القدرة على القراءة والكتابة والتحدث والاستماع بطريقة تساعدنا على التواصل بشكل فعال وفهم العالم من حولنا.
سيركز برنامجنا الجديد على (- ICAS- المسابقات والتقييمات الدولية للمدارس) التي تُدار في معظم المدارس من قبل جامعة نيو ساوث ويلز و NAPLAN في الفصل الدراسي (التيرم) الرابع.
سنقوم بعمل اختبارات تدريبية مع كل فصل دراسي، مع التركيز على فهم النص وتحليله وعلى الكتابة والكثير غير ذلك
٥ .مجموعة العمل الدرامي القبطي
تقوم مجموعة العمل الدرامي بعمل مسرحيات قصيرة تناسب الفئة العمرية، تم كتابتها وإخراجها وأدائها بواسطة الأطفال وتقوم الآن بتسجيل طلاب المدارس في المرحلة الابتدائية
