Spiritual message of the week by Father Michael:
The Coptic New Year
The word Nayrouz means "a new beginning".
On this day and every day in the new Coptic year, we declare our eagerness to share with the martyrs, the life of intimacy with our Lord Jesus Christ. Who is theirs and our glory, who shines on them and us.
So let us follow their steps, and celebrate the new year, with purity, love, and services, and remember what St Paul said "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:17-18.
May our Lord accept their prayers and intercession for our purity, blessings, and protection.

2. Announcement regarding the St Mark’s Families Camp
Dear St Mark Families,
Thanks for all the families that have registered to our upcoming Families Camp on the 12th – 13th of November.
We were overwhelmed with the level of interest and bookings and were working hard behind the scenes to secure additional accommodation at The Tops Conference Centre so we can accommodate all the requests we received.
God has answered our prayers and we have now secured additional accommodation, which is almost at capacity now, if you would still like to register please complete your booking asap below.

We have sent an email to the families that have already made a booking to secure their overnight stay or day visit by paying a $100 deposit to the below account referencing the full name of the person who made the booking by Saturday the 10th of September.

We have also planned a fun-filled day for our kids as we all know how active they can be, so we have organised 3 activity session times over the two days to keep them engaged in fun all day long!

3. Father’s Day – this Sunday 5 September
St Wanas Kids Charity is happy to present two fantastic events: BIKEN’BLEND and a FATHER’S DAY CAR WASH!
BIKEN’BLEND: Compete and have fun this Father’s Day!! Pick your smoothie blend and be ready to break a sweat! Winners at the end of the day will receive a special gift from Abouna! Funds collected from the event will be donated.
FATHER’S DAY CAR WASH service at church – Sunday 4th September from 8am.
Spoil your dad with a car wash while attending the mass. St Mark youth are offering this service.
All donations will go to the victim kids of the burnt Abusefin Church in Cairo through St Wanas Charity.
4. St Mark Families Fellowship Seminar – this Sunday 5 September
St Marks English Families Service would like to invite you to a seminar on ‘How to answer children’s difficult questions?’ presented by Vicky Maurice.
Looking forward to seeing you all for this week’s seminar on Sunday 4th of September at 11am in the Arabic Church.
5. El Nayrouz Celebration – Saturday 10 September
The El Nayrouz Celebration is on for Children: Pre-Kindy to Year 4 at 11am on Saturday 10 September!
There will be fun activities, rides, spiritual talk and more.
A combined Coptic New Year service for English and Arabic will be in the Arabic Church from 7pm, Saturday 10 September.
Join us for a very special night. We will have Vespers, English and Arabic Hymns, and a Live Zoom Interview with Tasoni Mariam – widow of Hieromartyr Father Mina Aboud.
6. St Mark’s Coptic Mastermind Competition
St Mark’s church will be holding a Coptic Mastermind competition for year 5 and 6 girls and boys this year which will be held on 13th November 2022. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to study the Bible in depth and grow their love for The Word of God. In preparation for the competition, the kids will be grouped into teams of 4 and will be coached over the course of 6 weeks.

8. Pre-Kindy Soccer (Rockaroos) – Training time change
Calling 4&5 year old’s to experience soccer with a professional coach in a fun and playful way. Training is now on Thursdays at 5:30-6:30pm. No other changes.

10. 40 Day Commemoration for Raaous Karas
The forty days commemoration for Raaous Karas will be at the mass on Saturday 10 September at St Mark’s church followed by gathering at 5&2 Café.

لقد قمنا بإعداد جدول كامل وسينضم إلينا آباء الكنيسة بمزيج من الكلمات الروحية وورش العمل الجماعية والأنشطة العائلية والألعاب.
كما قمنا ابضاً بإعداد يوم مليء بالمرح لأطفالنا الذين نعلم جميعًا مدى نشاطهم، لذلك قمنا بتنظيم ٣ جلسات للأنشطة على مدار اليومين لينشغلوا مستمتعين بالمرح طوال اليوم!

ستقيم كنيسة القديس مار مرقس مسابقة ماستر مايند القبطية هذا العام للصف الخامس والسادس الابتدائي للبنات والأولاد في ١٣ نوفمبر ٢٠٢٢. هذه فرصة ممتازة لطفلك للتعمق في دراسة الكتاب المقدس وتنمية حبهم للكلمة الله. استعدادًا للمسابقة، سيتم تقسيم الأطفال إلى فرق من أربعة أطفال وسيتم تدريبهم على مدار ٦ أسابيع.
