“God Save the Queen”
British National Anthem
God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the Queen!
O Lord our God arise,
Scatter her enemies,
And make them fall:
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their Knavish tricks,
On thee our hope we fix:
God save us all.
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour.
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever with heart and voice,
God save the Queen.
Why was it that Queen Elizabeth has become the most successful and loved Queen of our modern times?
If we look at the words of the British National Anthem, we see a deep longing prayer for the Queen (or the King; used interchangeably depending on who is the reigning royalty) that is calling on God to save them. The British National Anthem was written in 1745, when the Monarchy was threatened by the enemy. This Anthem has been sung for 277 years, of which Queen Elizabeth has been reigning on her throne for 70 years. It is a powerful prayer of blessing, protection, wisdom, long life, and strength. The blessing, protection, wisdom, long life, and strength is given if one lives in accordance with the Laws of God and God will provide all the successes imaginable. This can be clearly seen in the life of Queen Elizabeth. So many times, this prayer was sung for her, surely God must have blessed her because she has lived a faithful hidden life in Christ. This is evident in her most profound quote when she said, “How I wish that the Lord would come in my lifetime, I should so love to lay my crown at His feet.”
So, what can we learn? We should never underestimate the power of constant prayer as St Paul quotes saying, “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess 5:17) even a short prayer like “my Lord Jesus have mercy on me.” Our unceasing prayers can transform people through God’s Grace from all walks of life from Kings, Queens, Nations, Churches, and all people. May we live the life of constant prayer.
2. Request from St Mark Fathers and Church Committee
Recently, Bayside Council representatives met with the Church and raised concerns about the number of complaints received from neighbours in relation to Church activities and behaviours. To assist us in maintaining harmony and positivity with neighbours and Council, can we please ask you to be mindful of the following rules:
1.Please do not park in, or too close to, driveways. Please leave ample distance for residents to enter and leave their driveways.
2.Please be respectful and courteous at all times to people around the Church. We should represent Christ in our behaviours and words.
3.Friday night activities to be respectfully arranged so that noise is kept to a minimum.
4. All to leave the church at 11pm on Friday nights and please keep quiet when walking to your cars.
5. Please cooperate with the scouts who will be closing church gates at 11pm.
6. No ball games permitted in the carpark or on the church grounds at any time.

5. Bereavement Announcement for beloved Michael Milad-Said
“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”” I Corinthians 2:9
Beloved Michael is the dear husband of Michelle Milad-Said, and adored father of Rafael, Ramzy and Rihanna.
Condolences will be held at St Abanoub and the Apostles Coptic Orthodox Church on Friday 16th September at 6-9pm.
Funeral will be held at St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church on Thursday 22nd September May at 10.30am.
May God rest his soul in the Paradise of Joy and give peace and comfort to family and friends

قم بإحباط حيلهم الكاذبة،

لماذا أصبحت الملكة إليزابيث الملكة الأكثر نجاحًا وحبًا في عصرنا الحديث؟
إذا نظرنا إلى كلمات النشيد الوطني البريطاني، نرى صلاة شوق عميقة للملكة (أو الملك؛ تستخدم بالتبادل اعتمادًا على من هو/هي الملك الحاكم) تدعو الله أن يحفظهم. كُتب النشيد الوطني البريطاني في عام ١٧٤٥، عندما كان العدو يهدد النظام الملكي.
تم غناء هذا النشيد الوطني لمدة ٢٧٧ عامًا، منهم ٧٠ عاماً تولت فيهم الملكة إليزابيث العرش. إنها صلاة قوية تطلب البركة والحماية والحكمة وطول العمر والقوة. يتم منح البركة والحماية والحكمة والعمر الطويل والقوة إذا عاش الانسان وفقًا لقوانين الله ويوفر الله كل النجاحات التي يمكن تخيلها. يمكن رؤية هذا بوضوح في حياة الملكة إليزابيث. في كثير من الأحيان، تم غناء هذه الصلاة لها، وبالتأكيد قد باركها الله لأنها عاشت حياة مخلصة خفية في المسيح. يتضح هذا في عبارتها العميقة جداً التي تقول فيها، "كم أتمنى أن يأتي الرب في حياتي، حتى أضع تاجي عند قدميه."
إذاً، ماذا يمكننا أن نتعلم؟ لا ينبغي أبدًا أن نقلل من قوة الصلاة المستمرة كما يقول القديس بولس، "صلوا بلا انقطاع" (١ تس ٥: ١٧) حتى ولو صلاة قصيرة مثل "ربي يسوع ارحمني". يمكن لصلواتنا المستمرة بنعمة الله أن تغير الناس من جميع دروب الحياة من الملوك والملكات والأمم والكنائس وجميع الناس. نرجو أن نعيش حياة الصلاة الدائمة.
٢.طلب من آباء ولجنة كنيسة القديس مار مرقس
التقى حديثاً ممثلو بلدية "بايسايد" مع الكنيسة وأثاروا قلقهم بشأن عدد الشكاوى الواردة من الجيران فيما يتعلق بأنشطة الكنيسة وسلوكياتها. لمساعدتنا في الحفاظ على التناغم والإيجابية مع الجيران والبلدية، من فضلكم هل يمكن أن نطلب منكم أن تضعوا في اعتباركم القواعد التالية:
١. يُرجى عدم إيقاف السيارات في ممرات المنازل ولا بالقرب منها. يُرجى ترك مسافة كافية للسكان للدخول والخروج من ممرات منازلهم.
٢. يرُجى احترام الناس حول الكنيسة في جميع الأوقات والتعامل معهم بلطف. يجب أن نمثل المسيح في تصرفاتنا وكلماتنا.
٣. ينبغي أن يتم إعداد أنشطة مساء يوم الجمعة مع احترام الجيران بحيث يتم خفض الضوضاء إلى الحد الأدنى.
٤. على الجميع مغادرة الكنيسة في تمام الساعة ١١ مساءً يوم الجمعة، ويُرجى التزام الهدوء عند السير إلى سياراتك.
٥. لن يُسمح في أي وقت بألعاب الكرة في موقف السيارات أو في أي مكان بأرض الكنيسة
