1. Weekly Spiritual Message
Spiritual message of the week by Father Mark:
Before the curtain opens
Usually the priest is the first to arrive at Church for Liturgy. However, some years ago, I noticed a lady who always seemed to be standing in Church before I arrived. I tried challenging myself to beat her but she was always there before me. So I decided to ask her why she arrives so early. She responded, “my favourite part of the Liturgy is when the priest open the curtains of the altar. I feel its like the windows of heaven are being opened for us and I don’t like to miss this moment.”
I found this to be a wonderful way to approach the Liturgy. It is a slice of heaven. An outpouring of grace from the windows of heaven. The ultimate union with the King Christ. We would never arrive to a drama play after the curtains open lest we miss any part of it. How about the heavenly drama? Let us approach the Liturgy with this desire and open heart…before the curtain opens.
2. St Mark Church Open Day – This Saturday 19 November, 10am – 12:30pm
Bring a friend from school, preschool or a neighbour, colleague and spread the word.
There will be food, activities, games for kids, and more!
3. Feast of St Wanas Celebration- This Saturday 19 November, 6:30pm
Join us for the St Wanas Feast Celebration on Saturday 19 November at 6:30pm in the St Wanas Church.
There will be Vesper, gifts, food and dessert, to celebrate this wonderful saint.
We plan to publish a new book for St Wanas with Miracles and acts of love soon.

4. Parish Council Election Registration & Nomination

The Parish Council Elections will be held on Sunday 4 December 2022 between 8am and 2pm. Please see attached the Parish Election Announcement from the Diocese.

7. Zion youth needs your help!!
This Christmas our youth will be preparing hampers and cooked meals to hand out to those who are sleeping rough on the streets of Sydney.
We need donations in order to make this possible so that our homeless brothers and sisters can eat and sleep a little easier this coming holiday.
Bank details are in the poster and all donations are tax deductible.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية:
يقدم رسالة هذا الأسبوع قدس أبونا مارك
قبل رفع الستار
عادة ما يكون الكاهن هو أول من يصل إلى الكنيسة من أجل القداس. ومع ذلك، منذ بضع سنوات، لاحظت وجود سيدة كانت دائمًا تقف في الكنيسة قبل وصولي. حاولت أن أتحدى نفسي لأصل قبلها، لكنها كانت دائمًا موجودة قبلي. لذلك قررت أن أسألها عن سبب وصولها مبكرًا. أجابت: "الجزء المفضل لدي من القداس هو عندما يفتح الكاهن ستر المذبح. أشعر وكأن نوافذ السماء تنفتح لنا ولا أحب أن تفوتني هذه اللحظة ".
فوجدت أن هذه طريقة رائعة للتعامل مع القداس. إنه قطعة من السماء. ونعمة متدفقة من نوافذ السماء. بل هو الاتحاد النهائي مع الملك المسيح. فنحن لا نصل أبدًا إلى مسرحية درامية بعد رفع الستار حتى لا يفوتنا أي جزء منها. ماذا عن الدراما السماوية؟ دعونا نتعامل مع القداس بهذه الرغبة والقلب المفتوح … قبل أن يُرفع الستار.
٢.اليوم المفتوح بكنيسة القديس مار مرقس – السبت ١٩ نوفمبر، ١٠ صباحاً – ١٢ ظهراً
احضر صديق من المدرسة، أو من الحضانة أو أحضر جارك، أو زميلك وانشر الخبر.
سيكون هناك طعام وأنشطة وألعاب للأطفال والمزيد!
٣.عيد القديس انبا ونس
انضم إلينا في الاحتفال بعيد القديس انبا ونس يوم السبت ١٩ نوفمبر الساعة ٦:٣٠ مساءً في كنيسة أنبا ونس.
عشية وهدايا وطعام وحلويات للاحتفال بهذا القديس العجيب
ننوي قريباً نشر كتاب جديد عن القديس انبا ونس ومعجزاته وأعمال المحبة.
