The Key for Peace

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you

1 Thessalonians 5:18.

I have an uncle who lived by this verse. He came back home one day with tough news for his wife saying ‘I am no longer needed in my work’ which shocked her. He added as he always did in all circumstances that ‘I thank the Lord for this. The Lord knows what is good for us. His wife lost it at this point, mostly due to the fact that he gave thanks to the Lord that he lost his job. She listed for him the monthly mortgage, bills, kids tutoring etc. My uncle reminded his wife with the verse above ‘For this is the will of God, to keep thanking’.

The wife didn’t have enough faith in God. She didn’t believe that the almighty God will never forsake His sons and daughters, but they are always protected by His promises of care. Few months passed while the family truly struggled to keep ends meet. My uncle kept his faith in the verse above.

One day, a friend proposed that my uncle starts with him a new business, using what is left from the redundancy money. The business grew exponentially, and the Lord blessed them in abundance.

I was reading my bible yesterday and I came across this lovely verse, so I remembered my uncle and how he found the key for peace through this verse. I thought to share this verse and story with you, praying that you practice thanking the Lord each day and in every condition.

2. St Marks Church Gala Dinner

Less than 1 WEEK to go till St Marks Church first ever Gala Dinner.

Join us for a night of fellowship and unity. A night not to be missed!

Come witness the next amazing skit organised by our very talented priests.

Also, many other performances from our wonderful church.

This is a night to sit back and relax and enjoy each other’s company.

3. Restore – Women’s Spring Conference

At St John’s combined with St Mark’s

We invite all ladies to this year’s Restore Women’s conference on the afternoon of Saturday 23rd November on the grounds of St Johns.

This is for all generations of weary women, looking for restoration

It will be an evening of refreshment and spiritual fellowship with a series of talks, break out groups and light refreshment.

Please RSVP to Mirette or Therese for yourself (and a friend 🙂 to come along.

4. Exciting Progress on Phase 1: BLESS
of the Cornerstone Building Project

Dear Church Community,

We are excited to share an important update on Phase 1: BLESS of the Cornerstone Building Project!

We are happy to announce that the carpark slab has been successfully poured, bringing us one step closer to realizing our vision.

The slab will now undergo a 5-week curing period, ensuring a strong and solid foundation.

After that, we will begin work on the bathrooms and move toward obtaining the Occupational Certificate.

We look forward to continuing this journey with your support as we progress from Phase 1: BLESS to the future stages of Phase 2: BLOOM and Phase 3: BLOSSOM.

Thank you for your prayers and generosity, which make this project possible.

We will keep you updated as we move forward.

5. St Mark’s Health & Fitness Classes –

Run at church by a qualified fitness trainer

Day: Tuesdays 6pm

Duration: 1 hour

Cost: 10 classes for $30 – donation to St Wanas Charity

Fitness Level: All ages and fitness levels welcome (exercises will be adapted to suit your level of fitness)

What to expect?

Have fun while you exercise! HIIT training / full body workout with a focus on increasing core strength and cardiovascular fitness.

What do I need to bring?

  • Towel

6. St Marks Church – School of Academic Excellence

St Marks Church ‘School of Academic Excellence’ is recommencing Friday 18 October.

Classes are running every Friday night from 6:30pm to 7:30pm covering literacy, maths and General ability.

There are primary and secondary classes available.

If you would like to join in term 4 please register your interest via the google form on the attached flyer.

St Marks School of Academic Excellence is offering a UCAT/Study help classes.

Classes will recommence Friday 18th October.

This course is suitable for students in Yr 10-12.

It will be held on Friday nights at 6:30pm.

7. St Mark’s Church Cleaning Day

Saturday 9th November 2024

Mark your calendars for the church quarterly cleaning day.

We need as many helping hands to share in the blessings.

Please take note of the following Flyer with details of Plot releases at Rookwood.

9. Parking Guidelines

Please take note of the following guidelines when parking your car and take care of our neighbours:

Avoid Parking Near Driveways or Corners: Always ensure that your vehicle does not block any driveways and that you avoid parking too close to corners, which can obstruct the view for other drivers and pedestrians.

Quiet Arrival and Departure: Please be as quiet as possible when arriving and leaving in your vehicles. This consideration will help maintain the tranquillity of our neighbourhood.

No Parking on Broe Avenue: Please observe the specific rule of not parking along Broe Avenue as this creates a traffic bottleneck which is dangerous.

Respect Neighbours’ Reserved Spots: Some neighbours may place bins or other markers to reserve parking spots for their households. Out of respect for their needs and requests, please do not move these markers or park in these reserved spots.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding. Should you have any concerns or require assistance regarding parking, please feel free to contact the church office.

10. CORNERStONE Project

Join us in a transformative endeavour to enhance St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church buildings for the benefit of future generations.

١.الرسالة الروحية الأسبوعية

مفتاح السلام

 ” اشكروا في كل شيء؛لأن هذه هي مشيئة الله في المسيح يسوع من جهتكم” 1 تسالونيكي 5 :18

لي عم يعيش بهذه الآية. رجع يوما ما إلى منزله بخبر سيء إلى زوجته يقول لها ” انهم لا يحتجوني في العمل بعد اليوم” الأمر الذي صدمها. ثم اضاف كعادته في كل الظروف وقال ” اشكر الله على ذلك؛ الله يعرف ما هو صالح لنا”. وفي هذه اللحظة خرجت الزوجة عن صمتها وبالاكثر بسبب شكره إلى الله لفقدان وظيفته. وبدأت تسرد له مصاريفهم الشهرية من قسط بيت ومصاريف الدروس الخصوصية والفواتير وغيرها من مصاريف الأولاد. فقام عمي بتذكرة زوجته بهذه الآيه ” هذه هي مشيئة الله لنستمر في الشكر”. لم يكن لدى الزوجة إيمان كاف بالله. ولم تصدق أن الله ضابط الكل لن يتخلى عن أولاده وبناته بل هم دائماً في حماية وعوده بالرعاية. فاتت بعض الأشهر والعائلة تعاني في الإيفاء بالتزاماتها. وبقى عمي على إيمانه بالآية المذكورة فوق. ثم في يوم من الأيام عرض صديق على عمي أن يشترك معه في مشروع جديد، مستخدماً ما تبقى معه من فلوس الاستغناء عنه. كبر المشروع جداً، وبارك الرب بوفرة.

كنت اقرأ انجيلي بالأمس ومررت بهذه الإية الجميلة، فتذكرت عمي وكيف وجد مفتاح السلام في هذه الآية. ففكرت أن اشارك معكم هذه الآية والقصة داعياً إلى الله أن نمارس الشكر كل يوم وفي كل الأحوال.

 ٣. تحديث عن مشروع حجر الزاوية

شعب الكنيسة الغالي،

يسعدنا ان نخبركم عن تحديث هام عن المرحلة الأولى: مشروع حجر الزاوية!

لقد تم صب الاسمنت بنجاح في مكان ركن السيارات، مما يقربنا خطوة من تحقيق رؤيتنا.

تحتاج هذه المرحلة إلى 5 اسابيع فترة معالجة للتأكد من صلابة الأساس.

نبدأ بعد ذلك في العمل في الحمامات ونسعى للحصول على شهادة الصلاحية لتشغيلها.

نتطلع إلى استمرار هذه الرحلة بدعمكم ونحن نتقدم من مرحلة ألاولى إلى الثانية ثم الثالثة.

 ٤. مؤتمر “الاستعادة” للسيدات

ندعو كل السيدات إلى مؤتمر “الاستعادة” ظهر يوم السبت 23 نوفمبر في كنيسة سانت جون. هذا المؤتمر لجميع السيدات المرهقة من مختلف الأجيال اللاتي يرغبن في التجديد

ستكون أمسية تتميز بالمودة والانتعاش الروحي مع سلسلة من الكلمات والتقسيم إلى مجموعات والمرطبات الخفيفة

٥. فصول سانت مارك للصحة واللياقة البدنية – تدار الفصول في الكنيسة بواسطة مدرب لياقة بدنية مؤهل

يوم: الثلاثاء 6 م

لمدة: ساعة واحدة

التكلفة: 10 فصول بتكلفة 30 دولار- تبرع لمؤسسة انبا ونس

مستوى اللياقة: نرحب بكل الأعمار وبكل مستويات اللياقة (سيتم تنسيق التمارين لما يتناسب مع مستوى لياقتك)

 ماذا تتوقع؟ المرح مع الاستمتاع بممارسة التمارين! تمارين HIIT / تمارين لكل جزء في الجسم مع التركيز على تقوية مركز الجسم ولياقة القلب والأوعية الدموية.

٦. مدرسة سانت مارك اكاديميك اكسلنس

تعاود مدرسة اكاديميك اكسلنس نشاطها يوم الجمعة 18 اكتوبر. تدار الفصول مساء كل جمعة من 6:30-7:30 م وتشمل القراءة والكتابة والرياضيات والقدرات العامة. توجد فصول للصفوف الأبتدائية والإدادية والثانوية. إذا كنت ترغب في الاشتراك في التيرم الرابع، من فضلك سجل رغبتك على استمارة جوجل المرفقة.

تقدم مدرسة اكاديميك اكسلنس فصول للمساعدة في UCAT . ستبدأ الفصول يوم الجمعة 18 اكتوبر. هذا الكورس يناسب طلبة الصف العاشر إلى طلبة الصف الثاني عشر. يوم الجمعة الساعة 6:30 مساء. اشترك في جروب الواتس آب عن طريق رمز الاستجابة السريعة المرفق.

 ٩.إرشادات عن ركن السيارات:

يُرجى الانتباه إلى الإرشادات التالية عند ركن سيارتك ومراعاة الجيران

 تجنب ركن السيارات بجوار مداخل المنازل أو بجانب زوايا الشارع: تأكد دائماً من عدم سد أي مداخل/مخارج المنازل والامتناع عن الركن بالقرب من زوايا الشارع حيث يتم حجب الرؤية لغيرك من سائقي السيارات والمشاة.

 الوصول والمغادرة الهادئة: يُرجى التزام الهدوء على قدر الإمكان عند الوصول إلى الكنيسة وعند مغادرتها. سيساعد هذا الحرص على الاحتفاظ بهدوء وسلام منطقتنا.

 عدم الركن في Broe Avenue: يُرجى الحرص على عدم ركن السيارات في Broe Avenue مما يسبب اختناق مروري وهو أمر خطير.

 احترام الأماكن المحجوزة الخاصة بالجيران. قد يضع بعض الجيران صناديق القمامة أو غيرها لحجز أماكن لسياراتهم. ينبغي احترام احتياجاتهم ورغباتهم، يرجى عدم تحريك هذه العلامات وعدم الركن في الأماكن المحجوزة.
