A companion during Holy Week Holy Week is fast approaching and nothing better than having a good companion to share the journey with. Sometimes the best companion is a book. Let me share one suggestion: ‘A Dialogue with the Savior’ by Fr Lev Gillet. It takes the shape of a profound dialogue, where the author seeks guidance from Christ on issues like suffering, redemption, and the transformative power of prayer, inviting readers to contemplate their relationship with God and the role of suffering in the journey toward salvation. Reading it during Holy Week is particularly meaningful because it aligns with the themes of Christ’s Passion, crucifixion, and resurrection. The dialogue invites readers to enter into the suffering of Christ and understand the deeper, redemptive purpose of His sacrifice, making it a perfect companion for meditation and reflection during this sacred time. 2. No Sunday School Saturday 5 April & Sunday 6 April Due to the annual Servants Camp, there will be no Sunday School Classes running on Saturday the 5th of April & Sunday the 6th of April as servants will be attending the Servants Camp. |
3. English Services during Passion Week 2025 Please find the timetable of church services during passion week below. Wattle Grove Bus Service: A daily bus from Wattle Grove to St Mark’s Church will be operating during passion week from Palm Sunday until glorious Thursday. Each night the bus will depart from Wattle Grove (from the front of St Mark’s College) at 6pm. The bus will leave St Mark’s church to return to Wattle Grove half an hour after the end of the service. On Good Friday, the bus will depart from Wattle Grove at 8:30am. |

4. Car Park Closures Attention all visitors! Please be aware that our church car park will be closing its gates at 11:00 PM every night, with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays, when you can enjoy extended parking until midnight. 5. Obstructing our Neighbours |
Dear Congregation, Particularly during this sacred time of Lent, we kindly ask everyone to be mindful of our neighbours by ensuring their driveways remain unobstructed at all times. If you realise your vehicle is blocking a driveway, please make it a priority to move it to a more suitable location. This simple act of courtesy helps foster positive relationships with our neighbours and reflects our commitment to being respectful and responsible members of the community. Unfortunately, we have received increasing concerns from our neighbouring friends about driveways being blocked by St. Mark’s parish members. As followers of Christ, we are called to show love, respect and consideration to all — our neighbours, our community, and the shared environment we cherish. |

6. UR Healed – A night by Upper Room Media Friday 11th April 2025 |

Join us for our annual UR Night – “U R Healed” by Upper Room Media! Come experience a night of prayer and live Upper Room Media hymns. This evening is a time for healing, reflection, and renewal as we journey through Lent toward Passion Week. Let go of past mistakes and embrace a fresh start in the Lord’s healing presence. 7. Remembrance Liturgy Saturday 12 April 2025 Join us at 8.30am on Saturday 12 April 2025, for a heartfelt liturgy dedicated to honoring the cherished memories of our departed loved ones. After the service, enjoy refreshments and engage in insightful discussions focused on finding solace and guiding children through the journey of grief. 8. In the Shadow of the Cross night Friday 11 April 2025 “For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” (Hebrews 2:18) As we approach the last Friday of Lent, we prepare our hearts for Holy Week, fixing our eyes on the cross of Christ—just as He fixed His gaze on our salvation. Let us come together and abide with our Savior “in the shadow of the cross” on Friday, April 11, at 7:30 PM, in a special spiritual vigil titled “He Aids Those Who Are Tempted.” Children’s ministry service will also begin at 7:30 PM. We warmly invite you to join us for this sacred time of reflection and prayer. Important Reminders:

14. Parking Guidelines – Please take care of our neighbours |

Please take note of the following guidelines when parking your car and take care of our neighbours: Avoid Parking Near Driveways or Corners: Always ensure that your vehicle does not block any driveways and that you avoid parking too close to corners, which can obstruct the view for other drivers and pedestrians. Quiet Arrival and Departure: Please be as quiet as possible when arriving and leaving in your vehicles. This consideration will help maintain the tranquillity of our neighbourhood. No Parking on Broe Avenue: Please observe the specific rule of not parking along Broe Avenue as this creates a traffic bottleneck which is dangerous. Respect Neighbours’ Reserved Spots: Some neighbours may place bins or other markers to reserve parking spots for their households. Out of respect for their needs and requests, please do not move these markers or park in these reserved spots. Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding. Should you have any concerns or require assistance regarding parking, please feel free to contact the church office. |

٧. خدمات الكنيسة خلال الصوم المقدس تبدأ القداسات خلال الاسبوع الساعة 8 ص، و تبدأ 8:30 في العطلات خلال هذه الأيام المقدسة، يسرنا أن نعلن عن عدد من الخدمات المختلفة التي تم تصميمها لتعميق حياتنا الروحية.

عزز معلوماتك عن الحان الصوم الكبير واسبوع الآلام من خلال دروس الشموسية كل سبت الساعة 6:30 م الكنيسة مفتوحة لمن يريد أن يمر عليها للصلاة أو التأمل ٨.التخلص من السموم خلال الصوم المقدس ٩.انت مُشفى – الجمعة 11 أبريل انضم إلينا في أمسيتنا السنوية “أنتِ مُشفى” من أبر روم ميديا! تعال واختبر ليلة صلاة وترانيم حية من أبر روم ميديا. هذه الأمسية هي وقت للشفاء والتأمل والتجديد، بينما نمضي في رحلة الصوم المقدس نحو أسبوع الآلام. اترك أخطاء الماضي، وانطلق من جديد في حضرة الرب الشافي. سيتم تسجيل الحدث مباشرةً. تُفتح الأبواب الساعة 7 مساءً، ليبدأ الحدث الساعة 7:30 مساءً. نراكم جميعًا هناك! ١٠. في ظل الصليب – 11 أبريل “لأَنَّهُ فِي مَا هُوَ قَدْ تَأَلَّمَ مُجَرَّبًا يَقْدِرُ أَنْ يُعِينَ الْمُجَرَّبِينَ.” عب 18:2 ونوصل لآخر جمعه فى الصيام ونلاقى نفسنا بنرتب لأسبوع الآلام و نثبت أعينا لصليب المسيح كما ثبت المسيح نظره الى خلاصنا على الصليب هلم نخرج سويا ولو لبضع ساعات نمكث مع مخلصنا ” *فى ظل الصليب* ” يوم الجمعه ١١/ ٤ الساعه ٧:٣٠م، في سهرة روحيه بعنوان “يُعِينَ الْمُجَرَّبِينَ” تعالوا وشاركونا. تبدأ خدمه رعايه الاطفال الساعه ٧:٣٠م ملاحظات هامة: مواقف السيارات: يرجى عدم ركن السيارات في شارع Broe Ave ، أو أمام مداخل المنازل، أو عند زوايا الشوارع، حيث تقوم البلدية بفرض غرامات على المخالفين. الضوضاء: نرجو منكم الحفاظ على مستوى صوت منخفض، خاصة خلال الليل، احترامًا للجيران. شكرًا لكم. ١١.قداس لذكر المنتقلين – السبت 12 أبريل يُرجى الاطلاع على البوستر المرفق – سجل حضورك للتأكد من ذكر احبائك في القداس ولمعرفة الأعداد لتجهيز الطعام.
